Chief Concierge: Gabrielle Kreidie
Gabrielle (Ellie) Kreidie, an SLA Junior, will be serving as the Chief Concierge at EduCon 2.8! Ellie is the Youth Commissioner to City Council President Darrell Clarke and advocates for underprivileged and immigrant youth in our city. Ellie is a massive part of the SLA Debate Team and currently holds a leadership role for new debaters. Ellie has worked closely with the Philadelphia Student Union, especially within the SLA chapter. Ellie also is the Secretary of the Philadelphia Model United Nations Delegation, where she will go to Costa Rica, New York and other places across the East Coast for Model UN conferences this year. Ellie and her family are largely political in the city of Philadelphia. Ellie has grown up following current events and politics in a devoted manner. She gives back to her community by participating in events at the Northern Liberties Community Center, Al Aqsa Islamic Society (where she has worked with Syrian refugees), and Turning Points for Children. Ellie interns at Community Legal Services (CLS), an organization that gives free civil legal aid to low income Philadelphians. This past year, CLS created a podcast series (Sound Justice: A CLS Podcast) for which Ellie is the co-host. Ellie is always willing to help and hopes she can be a great help on EduCon weekend for all participants! In her spare time, Ellie is either watching C-SPAN or cheering on her favorite team, FC Bayern Munich. Assistant Concierge: Tomas Arango
Tomas Arango, an SLA Junior, will be serving as the Assistant Concierge at this year’s EduCon. This is Tomas’ second year helping out a EduCon and is planning on working at the event until his senior year. Tomas is a strong part of the SLA community and loves helping out whenever necessary. He is part of the Student Union at SLA and the SLA Music Club. He also is a varsity runner for the SLA Rockets Cross Country team. Tomas takes multiple media based classes at SLA. Through his interest in media studies, Tomas works on many projects including recording an album with a fellow classmate. Director of Presenter Services: Kaamil Jones
Kaamil Jones, an SLA Sophomore, is the Director of Presenter Services for EduConcierge. Kaamil is an active member within the SLA community, where this year became a large character in SLA’s Students Run Philly Style chapter. Kaamil adores photography and loves taking pictures of friends, family, and SLA. Kaamil enjoys going to school and representing the SLA community. Director of Traveling Services: Chuckie Copeland
Gabriel (Chuckie) Copeland, an SLA Sophomore, is looking forward to his second EduCon where he will be serving as Director of Traveling Services. Chuckie has an extensive knowledge of public transportation in Philadelphia, and has a nose for the best places to eat. At school, he plays on the Soccer team and immerses himself in English and History, which are his favorite subjects to study. Chuckie has Journalism as his elective class, where he creates pieces on the SLA Media website. Once a week, Chuckie goes to Drexel to take college level classes along with college students. He gives back to the SLA community by helping out at the school store. When Chuckie has the time, he loves to travel, and has been to over 15 countries in the past 7 years. Chuckie looks forward to helping you with whatever you may need at this year's Educon.
Alumni Consultants: Nikki Adeli and Jeff Kessler
Nikki served as the Head Concierge for 3 years during her time at SLA. She is currently a freshman at the American University in Washington D.C., studying International Studies and Economics. Having run EduConcierge at EduCon for two consecutive years, former SLA Student Jeff Kessler will oversee the EduConcierge operation and continue to assist as an official Alumni Consultant. Jeff is currently studying at the University of Pennsylvania in the Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology.
